The paper is based on the first results of the research “Proficient - SME network business model for collective self-organized processes in the construction and retrofit of energy-efficient residential districts” (EU 7th FP 2012-2016) and illustrates the potentialities of the collecting self-organized (CSO) housing model to fulfil the goals of the 20-20-20 EU energy policies by means of some case studies realized in Italy.
