During the last years, it has known that pigment and materials analysis can be very useful to plan appropriate cleaning and restoration interventions for analyzed artworks. The present research has dealt with the White Titanium dioxide pigment and its applications in the field of historical works of art. The study was focused on two important but different artists and related paintings of the Modern era: “Caffè Orientale sulla Riva degli Schiavoni” (oil on canvas, 1882) attributed to J.S. Sargent and “Cubist Figure” (oil on canvas, 1909) attributed to P. Picasso.
