A derivation of the Thiele equation describing the motion of the magnetic skyrmion with drift velocity v = (vx ,vy ) in the presence of a spin Hall current injected in the heavy metal (tungsten) and of the interfacial Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction is given. The spin-transfer torque contribution and the confinement effects are not taken into account. The Thiele equation is obtained by projecting onto the relevant translational modes the Landau- Lifshitz-Gilbert equation of motion in the presence of spin Hall for both the Nèel (hedgehog-like) and Bloch (chiral) skyrmions. The gyro-coupling vector G =(0,0,G) is expressed in the usual form, while the dissipative tensor D proportional to the Gilbert damping α is written in terms of a scaling length.
