This paper illustrates design and implementation of a SDS Gateway for the standard TETRA ERretre emergency network of the Emilia-Romagna region (Italy). The SDS Gateway can guarantee an efficient usage of the ERretre network resources, by allowing the development of many different services based on short data service (SDS) while still ensuring the full emergency network main activity.
