A new cave recently investigated has come to light in the Northern Adriatic region at the border between the Italian Alps and the Friulian Plain. Its multi-layered archaeological content has recently provided unexpected evidence of ephemeral frequentation during the early Gravettian, which is recorded for the first time in this part of Italy. Given the lithological and typological composition of the assemblage, it has been inferred that humans entered the cave already equipped with tools and hunting implements.
