The aim of the Chapter is to illustrate, in largely systematic manner, the financial incentives currently adopted in some Countries of the European Union (EU) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and to place them within the framework of the contextual policy adopted at Community level for this important as well as problematic component of the European productive system. The initial part of this chapter consists of an analysis of the Community’s legislation on so-called 'State aid', while the final part pays particular attention to the more recent innovative tools, aimed at encouraging the sources of risk capital to finance SMEs. In this way an attempt is made to highlight the advantages, disadvantages and profiles of coherence of the EU strategy.

Abstract
The aim of the Chapter is to illustrate, in largely systematic manner, the financial incentives currently adopted in some Countries of the European Union (EU) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and to place them within the framework of the contextual policy adopted at Community level for this important as well as problematic component of the European productive system. The initial part of this chapter consists of an analysis of the Community’s legislation on so-called 'State aid', while the final part pays particular attention to the more recent innovative tools, aimed at encouraging the sources of risk capital to finance SMEs. In this way an attempt is made to highlight the advantages, disadvantages and profiles of coherence of the EU strategy.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
