Anti-tumour necrosis factor are biologic drugs, associated with increased risk of infection. The study evaluate the effect of these drugs on oral colonization by candida. This case-control study shows a more frequent colonization by candida in patients treated with anti-TNF alpha drugs in comparison with patients not using immunosoppresive drugs. Candida albicans was the species most rappresented in subjects with positive oral swab.
