The building complex of Monterosso (Villa Ottolenghi, 20th century), near Acqui Terme (Alessandria, Italy) is one of few examples in Italy of close collaboration between architects, painters, sculptors for the creation of a private house, characterized by artworks of great interest. Among the most interesting artworks in Villa, it is possible to remember artworks made by Rosario Murabito (1907-1972), emerging contemporary artist: the "Great graffito" (15,21 m x 3,49 m). It was chosen as object of this study, both for particular typological characteristics and to collect data necessary to support future restoration actions and mitigation of degradation, that respect the decisions of artist. The research shows the principals results obtained from biological and petrographic studies about conservative state of this artworks, material, artistic technique, ecc.
