A painting on canvas of the second half of the sixteenth century was examined by image diagnostics at the Archaeometry Lab of the Physics Department in Ferrara. X-ray radiography showed a hidden painting layer and K-edge radiography performed elemental mapping of lead. X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyses were performed to get detailed information on pigments composition. In this work we present the development of the diagnostic protocol.
