The URHC Project has been launched by UNESCO World Heritage Centre of Paris as a Technical Assistance Program to the Egyptian government in order to undertake the necessary studies for the establishment of a Management and Conservation Plan of Historic Cairo World Heritage site. In the first phase 2010-2011 it focused on the delimitation of the WH site (Core Area and Buffer Zone) and the definition of general protection measures concerning the urban fabric.
