The book presents the outcomes of the researches carried out on behalf of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre of Paris on the Historic City of Sana’a, aimed at the establishment of a Conservation and Rehabilitation Plan for the World Heritage site and the other historic settlements. It focuses on the methodological issues and the outcomes of an Inventory of the buildings and open spaces implemented by the local authorities with the scientific coordination and the operational support of a team of the University of Ferrara. The Inventory is based on a detailed and comprehensive field survey and is intended not only to supply an accurate documentation on the current situation of the whole urban fabric, but also to become a tool for the planning and management of a consistent conservation policy.
