Abstract

Unit: New Bio-Molecules as markers in MS A shift of the balance between Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their tissue inhibitors (TIMPs) in favour of proteolytic activity is currently thought to play a central role in modulating CNS inflammatory responses. In particular, our recent results show that increased levels of active MMP-9 and active MMP-2 in CSF and serum are useful indicator of MS activity desease; Moreover since anti-inflammatory properties are conferred to cholinergic system through α7-nicotinic receptor activation on surface of microglial cells CSF AChE and N-acetylaspartic acid (NAA)-level will be evaluated in relation to disease activity. Then will be evaluate the potential role of MicroRNA (miRNA )in a sub-population of T-lymphocyte because these molecules seems to be involved in the maintenance of the immune-tolerance.
