The works of famous astrologers such as Luca Gaurico, Francesco Giuntini and Guido Bonatti included charts on the foundation of cities and buildings. This article offers an analysis of the horoscopes concerning Ferrara and Bononia, while paying particular attention to geometrical and astronomical data and their correlation with the urban planning designs associated with them. In doing so, it attempts to distinguish between material evidence and myth.
