The European Council of Lisbona II has pointed out the priority actions to foster the development of the information society and the cooperation between universities and private as well as public companies (European Council, 2000; Gallerani, 2002): a) incentives to the processes aiming at the activity sharing between the universities and the enterprises, in order to increase the competitive ability of EU-System; b) creation of an atmosphere suitable for the start-up of innovative and high-tech firms through the exploitation of the outcomes of the scientific research, the transfer of knowledge and the sensitization of the young people to the occupational perspectives coming from the knowledge-intensive industries. In this paper we show some insights with respect to the case of the University of Foggia, seen as a meaningful example of the ways an University in its start-up phase can face the intricate thematic of the relationships with its local external stakeholders and, in particular, with the representative of the employers.
