The research discusses some issues concerning the interrelations of speech acts and linguistic theory. There is a wide application of speech act theory to many different fields and different languages. Contrary to expectations, the state of the art suggest that the interface of grammar and speech acts has been only partially explored. Our aim is to do justice to the interdisciplinary complexity of the speech acts interface and evaluate its relevance in the development of cognitive science.
