We report a case of a patient with hypercalcemia and hypertensive emergency after acute renal failure due to non-traumatic rhabdomyolysis. The hypercalcemia, appearing about 30 days after the beginning of the diuretic phase, was the consequence of active removal of calcium from damaged muscle and soft-tissue deposits. Normal serum levels of PTH and 1,25(OH)(2)D3 during the hypercalcemic phase consent excluding the increase of bone and bowel calcium resorption.

Abstract
We report a case of a patient with hypercalcemia and hypertensive emergency after acute renal failure due to non-traumatic rhabdomyolysis. The hypercalcemia, appearing about 30 days after the beginning of the diuretic phase, was the consequence of active removal of calcium from damaged muscle and soft-tissue deposits. Normal serum levels of PTH and 1,25(OH)(2)D3 during the hypercalcemic phase consent excluding the increase of bone and bowel calcium resorption.File in questo prodotto:
