This memory presents the initial results on the inhibition of rebar corrosion in a carbonated concrete containing chlorides by using a mix of two substances, one efficient towards the attack of chlorides, the other towards the carbonation effects. This research aims at confirming in concrete the positive results previously obtained in a synthetic solution simulating the electrolyte in a chloride-polluted carbonated concrete. Impedance measurements has been applied to study rebar corrosion inhibition in concrete and an equivalent circuit has been proposed to interpret the impedance data. 6-month tests confirmed that this mix of two inhibitors can efficiently retard rebar corrosion in carbonated and chloride polluted concrete.
