A novel user-cooperative strategy for best access point (AP) selection in WiFi networks is proposed, introducing a framework for understanding and exploiting cooperation in such circumstances. The described approach allows the employment of existing AP estimation methods and requires no modification on the AP or network side. Simulative results show significant benefits in terms of users’ quality of service over conventional, non-cooperative scenarios.

Abstract
A novel user-cooperative strategy for best access point (AP) selection in WiFi networks is proposed, introducing a framework for understanding and exploiting cooperation in such circumstances. The described approach allows the employment of existing AP estimation methods and requires no modification on the AP or network side. Simulative results show significant benefits in terms of users’ quality of service over conventional, non-cooperative scenarios.File in questo prodotto:
