According to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Africa remains the region with the highest annual growth rate in mobile subscribers. Rwanda is one of the African countries where the number of subscribers increases with the growth of technology. Before the end of last year(2008)Rwanda had only one GSM operator, MTN Rwandacell, the other operator Rwandatel s.a was not yet to upgrade to GSM and uses an inferior type of CDMA technology which doesn’t support roaming services. Nowadays, Rwandatel s.a is launching its GSM technology which resulted the increasing of subscribers.
