The project of the book revolves around the issues of: environmental efficiencies, economic performances innovation and policy within national and regional NAMEA (national accounting matrix on environmental accounts) analyses. The role of environmental policy, though not a primary issue, is addressed, also as one of the driving forces of innovation. The focus is mainly applied. Nevertheless, we provide also conceptual analysis and theoretical discussions, along a not formalised not neoclassic reasoning. Although theoretical underpinnings of our analysis are diverse, evolutionary and other more heterodox approaches prevail. The research is divided in two main bodies, highly interrelated, that present a reasoning starting from the rich and structured Italian situation, to the patchier but developing NAMEA framework at EU level. Italy is a country that put a string effort in developing a NAMEA, which now witnesses a panel series 1990-2006, and maybe the only country to present in 2009-2010 a panel NAMEA (two years 2005 and 2000 for all 20 regions). The real value added in addition to the collection of analyses, which is per se original given the contributions on NAMEA are often scattered over different sciences and disciplines, is the focus on economic analyses, along different perspectives, compared to still prevailing descriptive analyses.

Abstract
The real value added in addition to the collection of analyses, which is per se original given the contributions on NAMEA are often scattered over different sciences and disciplines, is the focus on economic analyses, along different perspectives, compared to still prevailing descriptive analyses.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
