In Adriatic off-shore dolomitization patches in Jurassic succession have been observed in seismic surveys and sampled by a few well cores. Preliminary diagenetic studies on cores suggested a hydrothermal origin for these dolomites related to thrusting Alpine events. Excellent examples of dolomitized bodies, cutting in unconformity the Early Cretaceous pelagic deposits of the Biancone Formation and representing analogue for subsurface potential reservoirs, widely outcrop in the Monte Grappa Massif. A more detailed mapping and structural analyses of these dolomite bodies and their comparison with the dolomitization affecting the underlying Calcari Grigi may improve the knowledge of these complex diagenetic processes.

Abstract
In Adriatic off-shore dolomitization patches in Jurassic succession have been observed in seismic surveys and sampled by a few well cores. Preliminary diagenetic studies on cores suggested a hydrothermal origin for these dolomites related to thrusting Alpine events. Excellent examples of dolomitized bodies, cutting in unconformity the Early Cretaceous pelagic deposits of the Biancone Formation and representing analogue for subsurface potential reservoirs, widely outcrop in the Monte Grappa Massif. A more detailed mapping and structural analyses of these dolomite bodies and their comparison with the dolomitization affecting the underlying Calcari Grigi may improve the knowledge of these complex diagenetic processes.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
