In the present article the design and performances of specialized delivery systems, such as liposomes, micellar solutions and microemulsion, are reviewed, for the administration of cytotoxic alkaloids. Special attention has been payed to three classes of compounds, namely Vinca, Campthotecia and Taxus alkaloids, that have been previously indicated as very promising antitumor agents but still presenting severe drawback. In this respect this paper analyse different delivery strategies able to substantially improve the terapeutic applicability of such antitumor drugs.

Abstract
In the present article the design and performances of specialized delivery systems, such as liposomes, micellar solutions and microemulsion, are reviewed, for the administration of cytotoxic alkaloids. Special attention has been payed to three classes of compounds, namely Vinca, Campthotecia and Taxus alkaloids, that have been previously indicated as very promising antitumor agents but still presenting severe drawback. In this respect this paper analyse different delivery strategies able to substantially improve the terapeutic applicability of such antitumor drugs.File in questo prodotto:
