Abstract

In recent years, thanks to the discovery of new important sites and the careful sieving in many fluvial-lacustrine deposits, also in Italy small mammal stratigraphy is becoming of age. In this paper, an integration between the two biochronological scales, with large and small mammals, is proposed and the two succession of faunal events are carefully compared.
