Abstract
The dynamic interaction with the supporting soil of elastic structures excited by waves travelling through the soil is analyzed in the frequency domain. The foundation is assumed to be rigid and the soil medium is represented through an elastic half-space. The integral representation of the scattered wave field is discretized through a boundary element technique and it is coupled with a finite element model for the superstructure. Numerical examples show the influence of the foundation embedment and of the soil compliance on the dynamic response of a tower structure.File in questo prodotto:
