Several distamycin derivs. I [Y = N, X = CH; Y = CH, X = N; R = 4-(ClCH2CH2)2NC6H4, CH2:CBr] were synthesized from deformyldistamycin by coupling with different azolecarboxylic acids bearing an alkylating moiety. Some of them showed good activities in vitro and in vivo against L 1210 murine leukemia.
