Abstract

Selective neurokinin receptor agonists provided evidence that the inflammatory response to intravenous tachykinins is exclusively mediated by the NK1 receptor subtype. Preliminary evidence was also drawn that, after depletion of transmitters from the capsaicin-sensitive nerves, upregulation of NK1 receptors may develop in the rat trachea.
