The article by Papadimitriou and Karakostas (P&K in the following) is an example of application of the well-known stress transfer model to an area of Central Greece, but the paper seems to be a pure exercise because of important problems concerning (i) the database they take into account, particularly the historical seismicity they consider, (ii) the geometry of the assumed faults and (iii) the uncritical interpretation of triggering effects and long-term stress loading. Therefore, the reliability of the results they obtain is at least doubtful. In addition, the ignorance and the misuse of the existing literature should be also pointed out.
