The authors have pointed out that in rats poisoned by administration of CCl4 there is a total increase of the hepatic cholesterol esters 24 hours after the administration and a total reduction of the plasmatic cholesterol esters after only 4 hours. Among the cholesterol esters, those with higher degree of unsaturation appear to be more affected. Within the single lipoproteic classes, the most considerable variations involve the VLDL and the HDL. © 1979 The Italian Pharmacological Society.
