The Chinese satellite Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT), launched in June 2017, has successfully entered its performance verification phase. Calibration activities for the High Energy in- strument were carried out at University of Ferrara in collaboration with a UniFE/IASFBO team. Based on an agreement with the Chinese HXMT team, the UniFE/IASFBO group will participate to the sci- ence exploitation of the mission, which is expected to make great strides in several scientific areas thanks to its 1-250 kev wide band, and its unprecedented combination of sensitivity, FoV and angular resolution (few arcmin) in 20-250 keV. We seek support here to enable this critical phase of the collab - oration, which will use core programs data from pointed observations, surveys and the GRB search mode to carry out new studies on 1) spectral and temporal behavior of compact objects, 2) high energy tail of AGNs, 3) physics of GRB, and 4) new transients and their multi-wavelength follow-up.
