Different synthetic strategies for the preparation of iron oxide nanoparticles have been compared (namely coprecipitation of Fe(II)/Fe(III) salts, FeCl3/2-pyrrolidone and [Fe(acac)3] decomposition). The principal aim is to evaluate their influence on the modification of shape and size of the nanoparticles to be used in magnetic hyperthermia applications.

Abstract
