Healthy lowlanders were studied on the 3rd-4th day of stay in Lobuche (5050 m).Leptin was similar at SL or HA. Pre-exercise VEGF at HA was lower, and cortisol was higher, than at SL; pre-exercise VEGF and cortisol were inversely correlated. Significant correlations were also found between mean nocturnal SpO2 and glucose or triglyceride concentrations at awakening, and between time spent at SpO2<90% and the HOMA index. Conclusions: These findings suggest that leptin levels are unaffected at HA, whereas nocturnal hypoxic stress appears to affect plasma VEGF and metabolic variables at HA

Abstract
Healthy lowlanders were studied on the 3rd-4th day of stay in Lobuche (5050 m).Leptin was similar at SL or HA. Pre-exercise VEGF at HA was lower, and cortisol was higher, than at SL; pre-exercise VEGF and cortisol were inversely correlated. Significant correlations were also found between mean nocturnal SpO2 and glucose or triglyceride concentrations at awakening, and between time spent at SpO2<90% and the HOMA index. Conclusions: These findings suggest that leptin levels are unaffected at HA, whereas nocturnal hypoxic stress appears to affect plasma VEGF and metabolic variables at HAFile in questo prodotto:
