The editorial deals with a relevant issue regarding the radiographic damage progression in rheumatoid arthritis. Predictive factors and methods to assess radiographic damage such as conbventional radiology, ultrasonography, magnetic resonance and computed tomography, along with their advantages and limitations, are discussed in detail. More relevant trial which have yielded information on this issue are reviewed.

Abstract
