We describe a case of liver amoebic abscess. The patient, born in Italy, had been in India some months before the onset of the illness. This study emphasizes the importance of considering the possibility of an amebic infection in every patient with abscessual hepatic lesions. Immunological tests for the detection of specific antibodies are needed to make a certain diagnosis.
