This paper describes the preparation and characterization of gelatin microspheres containing the semi-synthetic ergot alkaloid bromocriptine. Microspheres showing an average diameter of 34 ?m were produced by the thermal coacervation technique. In vitro drug release kinetics and individual swelling were determined by a dialysis technique and by optical microscopy, respectively.
