Abstract

A great debate has been developed in the last years about the presence of lung interstitial edema in most climbers during the first days at altitudes above 3000-3500m. In this paper we discuss both the functional and imaging evidence of the presence of this phenomen which we suppose to be a "paraphysiological event" evolving in lung edema only in a small percentage of climbers.
