Autologous cell transplantation in combination with a biodegradable scaffold is one of the most promising bone regeneration techniques in craniofacial and orthopedic surgery. Algipore®, a hydroxyapatite ceramic obtained from red alga, is largely employed as scaffolds in bone regeneration.
