The first CW measurements are reported of single-pass signal phase shifts at 1.55μm using a cascaded parametric interaction with a few tens of milliwatts of injected pump power around 0.85μm. The interaction occurs in a periodically poled lithium niobate channel waveguide. The corresponding nonlinear coefficient is one of the largest reported to date: neff2 = ± 7 × 10-13Cm2/W.
