In this work we propose a new Localization Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Network in indoor environment, which does not need any knowledge of its planimetry and typology; it uses only received powers (RSSI) from nodes with known coordinates (anchor nodes or beacons) and information about other sensors previously estimated (raised to beacons), solving a system of equations in closed form, in order to estimate both unknown position and the parameter of propagation model. In this sense it is blind (self-adaptive) and cooperative (exploiting the network connectivity). Moreover the procedure is thought to be implemented in a distributed mode, the load of the overall network keeping “light”. Simulations show that, if the number of beacons is large enough, related to the complexity of the scenario, performances are equivalent or better to those of assisted algorithms.
