The variation of the main climatic parameters measured in a number of meteo stations within the Great Lakes Region in the Main Ethiopian Rift Valley are analysed. No significant change is observed in the annual rain, whereas a worrying decreas in the small, spring rains is detected across a time span of about 50 years. A marked increase in both minimum and maximum temperature is also observed for the same time span.
